Anyone wishing to experience real Cuban salsa, will want to check out our regular weekly dance classes, taught by our team of experienced, professional and friendly dance teachers. We teach the authentic Cuban casino style of salsa, as danced in Havana and Santiago, for all levels - from absolute beginner to advanced. We also hold regular classes in la rueda de casino, Cuban popular dances - including rumba, son, mambo, cha cha cha and Afro-Cuban.

Casino Salsa & The Roots of Cuban Salsa @ the Afro-Cuban Studio!

Salsa Classes to suit everyone from complete beginner to advanced salsero, plus an hour devoted to diverse Cuban rhythms and movement.

Class Timetable
2pm - 3pm Cuban salsa 'elementary' class (bridging the gap between improver & intermediate) - level 3
3:15pm - 4:15pm Cuban salsa intermediate & advanced - levels 4 & 5
4:30pm - 5:30pm Cuban salsa beginners & improvers - levels 1 & 2
4:30pm - 5:30pm Rueda de Casino (levels 3, 4 & 5)

5:30- 6:30pm (all levels)

£7 per class, 2 for £12, 3 for £15

Monday

The Afro-Cuban Lounge @ the Buffalo Bar

if you want to up the feelgood factor Cuban style, then this Monday night at The Buffalo Bar is for you. Doors open at 7.30pm, with classes for all levels from around 7.45pm, followed by an evening of dancing, drinking and socialising to the sounds of the very best Cuban salsa, timba & son, courtesy of DJ Dr Jim.

Don't forget DJ Doctor JIm new 36 track Cuban salsa/timba compilation ('Beginners Guide To Timba'), which has just been released on Nascente Records. And of course, we'll have lots of lots of shiny new copies for sale on the night! This comprehensive collection tells the story of timba from the 1990s to date, featuring all the top names, from Los Van Van to Havana D' Primera + track-by-track sleevenotes. It's available from HMV, Amazon etc, or better still, come and get your copy in person from DJ Dr Jim on Monday!

An Evening of Essential Afro-Cuban Flavas Salsa Timba & Latin Jazz
